‘Surgical Strike’ To Hit Theatres In December
Updated : October 30, 2017 11:57 AM IST Last year terrorists attacked an army base in Jammu and Kashmir’s Uri in which 17 soldiers were killed. After 11 days of the attack, the Indian Army retaliated with surgical strikes. A few days ago it was reported that director Suzad Iqbal Khan is coming up with a movie which is based on the attack. Titled ‘Surgical Strike’, the film is schedule to release in December.
Made under the banner of Crystal Movies, the film stars Deepraj Rana, Mir Sarvar, Lakha Lakhwinder Singh, Jimmy Sharma, Sanjay Singh, Amit Pathak and Vedita Pratap Singh as army officers. The movie has been co-produced by Vijay Valbhnai and Sonu Jain. “It’s an honour to execute on this vision and what we believe is an engaging and thrilling story inspired by this true life incident,” said Jain in a statement.
Valbhnai added, “Indian Army had many sub tactical strikes but this mission is one of the most successful ground mission till now. Apart from the thriller mission there is the basic life of these brave soldiers during the mission how bravely they made it possible and how strong the Indian Army is.” Not only Suzad, but Aditya Dhar is also making a film on a similar subject which is titled ‘Uri’. ‘Uri’ stars actor Vicky Kaushal , who plays the role of lead commander in chief. It is produced by Ronnie Screwala under his production banner RSVP and is slated to release in September 2018.
