Sushant Singh Rajput To Play Dacoit Of Chambal In Abhishek Chaubey’s Next?

Abhishek Chaubey gained his share of recognition with critically acclaimed flick Ishqiya. He then helmed Dedh Ishqiya and 2016’s hit flick Udta Punjab. The latter brought him in the league of top directors. After the Alia Bhatt starrer, the filmmaker is up for his next. Reportedly, his next is based on Chambal dacoits.

If reports are to be trusted, actor Sushant Singh Rajput will play the lead in the film. As per a source, “Sushant is playing a dacoit. This film will be shot in the Chambal ravines and will roll by year-end. Prep has begun and the team is excited”. For bringing out the true reality, Sudip Sharma, who is the co-writer of the film, is also interviewing some reformed dacoits.

He said, “Some of them have more than 80 murder charges. Everyone has heard horror stories about the dacoits of Chambal but I have realise the reality is quiet different from what Hindi films portray. We aim to capture that reality”. Helmed by Chaubey, the film will be bankrolled by Ronnie Screwvala.

It seems quite exciting to imagine Sushant leading the dacoits of Chambal.
