This Is The Reason Why Konkona Sensharma’s Maiden Directorial Venture Was Delayed

Konkona Sensharma is undoubtedly one of the phenomenal actors that India has today. After winning hearts with her acting prowess, the actress is making her directorial debut with ‘A Death in the Gunj’. As the flick releases today, the actress talks about the flick and the difficulties she faced while filming the project.

Talking about the film, she said that it was easy to finalize a story but the lack of funds left it delayed. She said, “I didn’t take much time to write and conceptualise the movie but getting funds took some time. I knew big, conventional studios wouldn’t take interest in a script like this. I approached them first so that I can start the process of elimination! When you don’t have a big star or name attached to your project, it becomes difficult to get funds”.

Konkona’s maiden directorial venture is touted to be a drama thriller and is set in McCluskieganj of 1979. The film features Ranvir Shorey, Kalki Koechlin, Vikrant Massey and late Om Puri. Well, it would be interesting to see if the actress’ directorial skills are as perfect as her acting skills are.
