Vidya Balan decorates herself in a sari for Australian designer

Shaadi Ke Side Effects actress Vidya Balan is the face of Indian traditional sari at the international platform. Hence when as Australian designer offered Vidya to create a dress collection exclusively for her, she preferred a sari, quite expectedly.

Vidya is the Indian ambassador to Indian Film Festival of Melbourne 2014 and being a part of it the actress did a photo shoot with renowned Australian designer Susan Dimasi. Dimasi has created a special sari for Vidya and the fabric for the same was exclusively designed by her. A textile has been hand weaved with silk ribbon through a rubber net for the sari. This textile was also kept for display at the prestigious Melbourne Now arts exhibition at the National Gallery of Victoria. Thereafter the designer draped the textile on Vidya as a sari. The film festival will take place from May 1 to 11 and Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan will inaugurate the event.
