Vishwaroopam row: Kamal Haasan says he knew who was behind the ban
Updated : March 15, 2017 10:05 AM ISTIn his latest and sensational interview to a Tamil channel, actor-filmmaker Kamal Haasan spoke about several topics under the sun. Shedding light on the Vishwaroopam row, which still remains a matter of mystery, Haasan in his bold statement might have ruffled some weathers. When asked about his recent outburst on AIADMK government, he said that he has been at loggerheads with them for nearly five years now.
“Nearly four years ago, my company Raaj Kamal Films had filed a case against Tamil Nadu government and had won. Nevertheless, the ban on Vishwaroopam cost us Rs 55 crore and some Muslim outfits alone can’t be held accountable because my brothers from the same community had also helped me. One person who was responsible for the ban was in power,” Haasan said, indirectly raising questions whether he was making those remarks against late Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa.
On the career front, Kamal is set to commence work on Sabaash Naidu after a long hiatus. The trilingual film will be a spin-off on the popular character Balram Naidu from Dasavatharam, and it also stars Shruti Haasan, Ramya Krishnan, Brahmanandam and Saurabh Shukla.
The Hey Ram actor is directing the film, besides producing as well starring in it.
