Andrew Garfield on Spider-Man: Why can’t he be gay? Why can’t he be into boys?

Spider-Man has been an all-time favourite for Andrew Garfield, Peter Parker in The Amazing Spider-Man. Recently he got involved in a discussion with producer Matt Tolmach about a new angle in the life of Spider-Man and Mary Jane or “MJ”.

Andrew was just wondering, ‘What if MJ is a dude?’ Why can’t we discover that Peter is exploring his sexuality? It’s hardly even groundbreaking!…So why can’t he be gay? Why can’t he be into boys?” Garfield has even thought of an actor as his beloved in the movie, “I’ve been obsessed with Michael B. Jordan since The Wire. He’s so charismatic and talented. It’d be even better—we’d have interracial bisexuality!” Andrew has even expressed his interest in the change of Spider-Man’s sexuality to director Marc Webb. Now let’s wait and watch out for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 if Andrew’s suggestion comes out in reality or not.
