Benedict Cumberbatch And Wife Sophie Welcome Their Second Child

Sherlock’s Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter have been blessed with their second child. And it’s a boy! We learn from PEOPLE that the boy, who has been named Hal Auden Cumberbatch, was born on March 3. However, Hal is couple's second son, who are already parents to Christopher Carlton.  

The duo, who tied the knot in February 2015, first announced their pregnancy in fall last year, after Hunter debuted her baby bump during Cumberbatch's premiere of Doctor Strange. Five months thereafter, there is another addition in their blissfully married life. PEOPLE also reports that Sophie has officially changed her name from Sophie Hunter to Sophie Cumberbatch.

The Imitation Game star is now a proud father of two. About embracing fatherhood, Cumberbatch, 40 mentioned his parents, actors Timothy Carlton and Wanda Ventham and said, “They are the first heroes I ever had in my life and I don’t mean that in a sappy way, it’s the truth.” “I can only hope to be half as good [a parent] as they were to me, to my children. I have their example to follow so I’ll be doing something right if I am,” he added.
