Benedict Cumberbatch Gets Nostalgic Of Radio Show ‘Cabin Pressure’

Actor Benedict Cumberbatch is best known for portraying Doctor Strange in Marvel’s ‘Doctor Strange’ and of course Sherlock Holmes in the TV series by the same name. However, little do we know that he also appeared on the Radio 4 sitcom ‘Cabin Pressure’. He said that he had a great time when he appeared on the show.

Moreover, he said that he misses the show. ‘Cabin Pressure’ is a radio sitcom which was written and created by John Finnemore, while David Tyler wrote and directed it. Apart from writing and creating, John Finnemore also acted in the show.

The story of the show revolved around exploits of the eccentric crew of the single aeroplane owned by MJN Air as they are chartered to take all manner of items, people or animals across the world. Apart from Benedict Cumberbatch and John Finnemore, the show also featured Stephanie Cole and Roger Allam. “It was really good fun. I miss it. We’d come in on the day – it was all a day’s work, the whole thing – we’d probably get the script a week before but I don’t think, other than Roger Allam (co-star), any of us had really ever read it properly until we were all sat round the table together and it was such good fun, really good fun,” Cumberbatch said.

The 41-year-old star played the role of Captain Martin Crieff, who loved flying but was bad at his job and was not paid for it.
