Bill Pullman and Judd Hirsch back for Independence Day 2
Updated : April 06, 2016 10:59 AM IST Bill Pullman and Judd Hirsch will be returning for Independence Day 2. Director-producer Roland Emmerich announced the news on Twitter. Pullman will reprise the role of President Whitmore, while Judd Hirsch will return as Jeff Goldblum’s father, Julius.
Apart from Pullman and Hirsch, Jeff Goldblum, Vivica A. Fox, and Brent Spiner will be returning to reprise their roles in the sequel. But, Will Smith will not be seen in the film. Emmerich has also made some new additions to his star cast, including Liam Hemsworth, Jessie Usher, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Travis Tope and Joey King.
Independence Day 2 is slated for release on June 24, 2016. The movie will be produced by Dean Devlin, Roland Emmerich and Harald Kloser. The flick will be helmed by Roland Emmerich, while the script for the film has been written by James A. Woods and Nicolas Wright. The original film, which was released in 1996, earned over $800 million worldwide.
