Brad Pitt’s The Operators to have David Michod on board as director, writer

Filmmaker David Michod of Animal Kingdom fame is the man who has been roped in to direct and write The Operators which will star superstar Brad Pitt. The film will be jointly produced by Plan B, New Regency and RatPac Entertainment.

Based on Michael Hastings’ 2011 best-seller The Operators is about the ups and downs of General Stanley McChrystal, an Afghanistan-based commanding general of international and U.S. forces. The book gives a peek at the real-life representation of the country’s military commanders. The book’s revelations led to a political outrage in the U.S. The film adaptation will also be produced by Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner. This year’s Oscar-winner 12 Years a Slave was produced by New Regency and Plan B and these producers have a multi-year agreement to co-sponsor films together along with Brett Ratner’s RatPac.
