Broadchurch remake to feature high-profile Hollywood actresses, Anna Gunn and Jacki Weaver

Two high-profile actresses from Hollywood have been roped in by Fox for the much-awaited remake of Broadchurch. Anna Gunn of Breaking Bad fame and Jacki Weaver from Silver Linings Playbook will feature together in Gracepoint, the remake of the popular British TV drama.

While the role of Det. Ellie Miller will be played by Gunn, Weaver will reprise the role of Susan Wright. It was announced earlier that Broadchurch’s David Tennant will reprise his original role in the remake. Broadchurch is all about a murder in a small town off the coast. Though, the character to be played by David in the remake will be called Det. Emmett Carver. Dan Futterman and Anya Epstein will serve the production as the show runners and executive producers. The shooting of the remake will begin in January and the show is supposed to be broadcast during the 2014-2015 season.
