Connie Nielsen Roped In To Play Wonder Woman’s Mother

The upcoming stand alone Wonder Woman film will have Danish actress Connie Nielsen play the role of Hippolyta, Wonder Woman’s mother. The actress is known for her roles in The Good Wife, The Following and Boss. Gal Gadot will play the role of Wonder Woman.

Hippolyta was the queen of Amazon. She was first introduced in the All Star Comics #8 as Wonder Woman. The character was created by William Moulton Marston and Harry G. Peter. Wonder Woman, the movie, is being directed by Patty Jenkins.

It was recently revealed that Chris Pine will play the role of Wonder Woman’s love interest, Captain Steve Trevor. The cast will also include Robin Wright, Lucy Davis, David Thewlis and Elena Anaya. Charles Roven, Zack Snyder and Deborah Snyder will produce the film. The movie will hit the screen on June 23, 2017 and the principle photography will take place in U.K., France and Italy.
