Doctor Strange Got Lost In Himalayas In Real Life

Sherlock actor Benedict Cumberbatch recently spoke about one of his adventures when he was a teenager. He revealed that after taking a year off from his studies, he took a trip to the Himalayas along with some friends, and got lost. This is quite interesting as Benedict ventures into the Himalayas, once again, in his upcoming superhero flick ‘Doctor Strange’.

Talking about the event, the actor shared that after visiting Darjeeling and Rajasthan, he and three of his friends decided to go to Kathmandu. By the third day, the altitude sickness got so overpowering that he started having weird dreams and couldn’t tell if he was asleep or awake. He said that he had “really weird, f****d-up dreams, and felt things were happening in my sleep”.

To survive, they had to drink water that was squeezed out of moss, take shelter in abandoned barns and experience crazy nightmares. They were extremely scared as there were wild animals around them. The next day, they collected themselves and followed the river to a village where they finally had some solid food. Sadly, the food gave Benedict dysentery.
