First teaser released: Hunger Games: Catching Fire

Among the series of sequels waiting to release in 2013, one of the most-anticipated ones is theHunger Gamesfollow-up,Catching Fire. TheMTV Movie Awards show on Sunday evening observed the launch of the first official trailer of the sequel, introduced by one of the starsLiam Hemsworth. In the two-minute trailer, Jennifer Lawrence asKatniss andJosh Hutcherson as Peeta are seen as the winnersof the 74th Hunger Games while the unstable situation in their country has reached its peak.

A new head game maker Plutarch Heavensbee, played byPhilip Seymour Hoffmanis introduced, who is seen to be conspiring withPresident Snow (Donald Sutherland) toget rid of Katniss, whom they look at as the greatest danger to their existence. Snow is confident in the trailer, "She has become a beacon of hope for them. She has to be eliminated.” Apart from the action, the brief trailer also shows affection through a kiss between Katniss and childhood friend Gale and more.

For the second timeHunger Gameshas premiered its footage at the MTV Movie Awards show. The second installment in the franchise, being directed by Francis Lawrence also starsElizabeth Banks, Stanley Tucci, Lenny Kravitz, Sam ClaflinandJena Malone and it is scheduled to release on November 22.
