Idina Menzel to star in Ellen DeGeneres’s ‘Happy Time’

According to sources, ‘Frozen’ star Idina Menzel has been tapped by Ellen DeGeneres to star in a half-hour comedy titled ‘Happy Time.’ The show will be written by Randi Barnes and produced by DeGenres, Jeff Kleeman and Barnes.

The show is based on a famous woman (played by Menzel) who is tired of pretending to be happy all the time. The single-camera comedy is slated for 2015-2016 TV cycle. It's being produced by Warner Bros. TV and DeGeneres' A Very Good Production company. Menzel doesn't have any film projects lined up in the immediate future aside from the animated short sequel Frozen Fever.
