Idris Elba Has No Plans Of Getting Remarried

Pacific Rim actor Idris Elba recently shared his thoughts on marriage and said that he does not plan on getting remarried. He feels that marriage is an institution which isn’t for everybody. The actor has been married twice in the past and has two children, a teenage daughter and a two-year-old son.

Idris’ first wife was makeup artist Hanne Norgaard who he married in 1999. The marriage lasted for four years and the ex-couple have a 15-year-old daughter named Isan. His second marriage lasted for only six weeks. It was with real estate attorney Sonya Hamlin in 2006. He also has a 2 year old son with girlfriend Naiyana Garth.

“Am I ever gonna get remarried? I don't think so. Yeah, I don't think so. Marriage is an institution of sorts. And I've done it. It's not for everybody. It's not my life's calling”, the 44-year-old shared. Talking about his kids, the actor added, “Because I'm 44 years old with a two-and-a-half-year-old by, I'm rolling around playing and then I'm at a Drake concert with my teenage daughter. Having a young child now keeps me young, without a doubt”.

Idris will next be seen in ‘The Dark Tower’ which is releasing on August 4.
