Kate Beckinsale to return for Underworld 5

Kate Beckinsale will return to reprise her role in Underworld 5, reported by TheHollywoodReporter. The 41-year-old actress will reprise her role as Serene in the fifth instalment of the Underworld franchise. The movie will be helmed by Anna J. Foerster.

The movie will be produced by Lakeshore Entertainment and Screen Gems. The script for the film has been written by Cory Goodman. Although the makers have remained tight lipped over the plot of the film, the movie is said to focus on a new and younger generation of vampires and werewolves who are destined to fight each other forever. The movie is scheduled to begin filming in Prague later this year.

This will be the first time that a woman will be directing a movie under the Underworld franchise. The action-thriller will also witness the return of Theo James. The 30-year-old actor made a brief appearance in Underworld: Awakening. Apart from Underworld 5, Beckinsale will also be seen in The Disappointments Room and Love and Friendship later this year.
