Kevin Smith’s bringing us a Mallrats sequel

Kevin Smith has suddenly decided he’s going to treat his audiences with the sequel of his 1995 hit film Mallrats. The filmmaker revealed that besides everything that he’s doing, Mallrats sequel is also something he’s working on.

"Yeah, that's what we're working on, It's half a script right now, and we're pulling our loot together. We've got up until the beginning of 2016. By the time we get to May 2016, we’re going to be shooting," he said. Smith likes to be busy with a lot of films around him. While he is working on third part of Clerks, he has also put a comedy in pipeline titled Hit Somebody. Smith told that a horror film Moose Jaws is also in the making.

Talking about why he chose to make the sequel of Mallrats, Smith said, "Lately I've been doing this thing where I'm like, 'Do you want to do what's good for your career, or do you just want to have fun?' Nobody's clamouring for a Mallrats sequel, but I would love to make one. It's been like 20 years." He also completed the Johnny Depp starrer Yoga Hosers.
