Lily Collins Might Join J.R.R. Tolkien Biopic

Chernin Entertainment and Fox Searchlight are developing a biopic on the author of The Lord of The Rings, J.R.R. Tolkien. The project is being directed by Dome Karukosk and the latest reports suggest that Lily Collins is in talks for the female lead role. Nicholas Hoult will play the role of the English writer.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lily will play the role of Edith Bratt, who was Tolkien's great love and eventual wife. She was also the inspiration for the elven princess characters in the 'Lord of the Rings' and ‘The Hobbit’ saga. Anthony Boyle is also part of the cast for the project that has been titled, ‘Tolkien’.

The biopic will tell the story of the writer’s early life. He is forced to question himself and his skills as a writer when the horrors of World War I engulf his life. ‘Tolkien’ does not have a release date as of yet.
