Lily Collins Opens About Struggling With Eating Disorders

While talking about her character, she revealed that she was drawn to the script because she suffered from eating disorder when she was a teenager. In the movie, To the Bone, she plays a character who suffers from anorexia.
The 27-year-old actress said, “This movie was really important to me to be a part of because, as a teenager, I suffered from eating disorders." However, this is the first time that she has shared something personal. This is my moment of talking about it. It's important. It's really important.
While talking about her disorder, she elucidated that a lot of young women experience this and there's nothing to be shameful about it. Talking about the movie, she said, “The movie is about embracing your past and about realising that it's something that doesn't define who you are, but it's about your experiences, surrounding yourself with people that support you, and about surviving and getting through it." However, Lily's had embraced many challenging roles, including Clary in The Mortal Instruments and Snow White in Mirror.
