Matthew McConaughey Playing The Lead In The Dark Tower?

Interstellar star Matthew McConaughey is being eyed for the lead role in the forthcoming film The Dark Tower. The movie will have Matthew play the role of Roland Deschain a.k.a The Gunslinger. The Dark Tower will be the cinematic adaptation of the novel series by Stephen King.

While nothing has been confirmed, The Hollywood Reporter has stated that Matthew is in talks to play the villain Randall Flagg a.k.a The Man. Stephen previously said, “I’m excited that ‘The Dark Tower’ is finally going to appear on the screen. Those who have traveled with Roland and his friends in their search for the Dark Tower are going to have their long-held hopes fully realized. This is a brilliant and creative approach to my books”.

Nikolaj Arcel will be directing the cinematic adaptation and Akiva Goldsman and Jeff Pinker will be writing the screenplay. The movie will be based on the first book of the series. The Dark Tower will hit the screens on January 13, 2017.
