Orlando Bloom Back In India After Being Deported
Updated : April 06, 2016 11:02 AM IST Pirates of the Caribbean star Orlando Bloom had a little unplanned arrival in India after being asked to leave as he landed at Delhi Airport by the authority. It was known that the actor’s e-visa was rejected on Dec. 19 as reported by Mumbai Mirror. However, after the intervention of Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj a new visa was issued to the actor in next few hours at London.
The actor is here in India on the invitation of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, as he plans to spend his Christmas in India. The actor will be promoting tourism in the state and will also be visiting Taj Mahal in Agra. He is also scheduled for dinner with Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh at his residence.
Amar Singh reacted to this whole incident by saying, “The officer in charge of immigration, a certain Mr Prabhakar, was extremely rude to Orlando who was actually unwell but he didn't pay any heed to that." He further thanked the Sushma Swaraj for her intervention in helping out the actor with visa. Further, Vikas Swarup, Joint Secy. of ministry of external affairs clarified, "This is international practice, if you arrive in a country without a visa, you are deported. What would happen if tomorrow Shah Rukh Khan landed in America without a visa? They would just tell him that you have violated our rules, you have to go back".
