Overwhelming response from Tabu for Ang Lee

Bollywood actress Tabu who is rarely seen on screen was overwhelmed by Ang Lee’s casting her inLife of Piwhich is releasing this month. The actress had received an email from the casting agent which said that she was the only actress from India Ang Lee wanted to meet for Pi’s mother’s role.

During their meeting, Lee didn’t speak for an hour and later said, “It’s not the central character, are you still okay with doing it?” Tabu being a huge fan of Lee’s Crouching Tiger; Hidden Dragon was touched by his honesty. Hence, she agreed to portray the role of Pi’s mother though its a small role but an interesting one.
