Rebecca Ferguson Roped In For The Greatest Showman on Earth

Variety has brought word that Swedish star Rebecca Ferguson has been roped in for director Michael Gracey’s ‘The Greatest Showman on Earth’. She will be joining Hugh Jackman, Zac Efron, Michelle Williams and Zendaya. The movie will be Hollywood’s first original studio musical after more than 20 years.

According to reports, Rebecca will play the role of opera singer Jenny Lind. The movie is a biopic on P.T. Barnum and offers a musical take. It focuses on Barnum’s infatuation with “Swedish Nightingale” Jenny Lind and the creation of his three-ring circus. Sex in the City writer Jenny Bicks will pen the script for the project.

The Swedish actress is known for her role in ‘Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation’ and ‘Florence Foster Jenkins’. She will next be seen in ‘The Girl on the Train’. The actress is currently busy with the shooting of ‘Life’ which stars Ryan Reynolds. ‘The Greatest Showman on Earth’ is expected to hit the screens in December next year.
