Steven Spielberg Teaming Up With Colin Trevorrow Again

Steven Spielberg will be joining forces with Colin Trevorrow for a family action movie titled ‘Powerhouse’. The duo previously worked together on ‘Jurassic World’ which was directed by Trevorrow while Spielberg served as executive producer. This time, the direction will be handled by up-and-coming indie filmmaker Emily Carmichael.

Emily is known for her animated web series ‘The Adventures of Ledo and Ix’ and her short film ‘Stryka’. Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment’s president of production Holly Bario stated, “We look forward to seeing Emily’s creative vision take shape with a truly original story from Colin which has all the signature qualities of an Amblin film”. Trevorrow also praised Emily and said, “Emily Carmichael is the next great writer-director of the kind of movies I love. Her ability to find warmth and humanity in genre storytelling is a superpower in itself”.

‘Powerhouse’ will be based on an original story by Trevorrow. He is also writing another project for Amblin which is titled ‘Intelligent Life’ and is being touted as a sci-fi love story. Trevorrow will be directing Star Wars: Episode IX as well.
