Sverrir Gudnason Tapped To Star In 'The Girl in the Spider's Web'

After playing the role of Bjorn Borg in ‘Borg/McEnroe’, actor Sverrir Gudnason will play the role of Mikael Blomquist in the film 'The Girl in the Spider's Web'. The movie is a sequel to the 2011 film ‘The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo’. Actor Daniel Craig played the role of Mikael in the 2011 movie.

Apart from Sverrir, the film will also feature Claire Foy, Sylvia Hoeks and Claes Bang. Claire Foy will essay the role of Lisbeth Salander, while Sylvia Hoeks will portray her twin sister. Claes Bang will be playing a baddie in the movie.

'The Girl in the Spider's Web' is the fourth instalment of the Millennium franchise. Fede Alvarez, who directed 2016’s surprise hit ‘Don’t Breathe’, will be at the helm of affairs for the project. The flick will go on floors from January next year in Berlin and Stockholm. It is expected to hit theatres on October 19, 2018. Amy Pascal and Elizabeth Cantillon are producing the flick in association with Scott Rudin and Yellow Bird.
