Take A Look At Denzel Washington In The New ‘Fences’ Trailer

Two-time Academy Award winner Denzel Washington will soon be seen in his directorial venture ‘Fences’. The movie stars Viola Davis and Jovan Adepo as Denzel’s wife and son. ‘Fences’ has been adapted from a play by August Wilson.

The trailer shows Denzel as an African American father living with his wife and son in a small house, struggling with race relations in the United States. The movie has been based in the 1950s. The play titled ‘Fences’ first opened on Broadway in 1987. It won Tony Awards for Best Play, Best Actor and Best Featured Actress. Then in 2010, a revival of the production also won Tony Awards for Best Revival of a Play, Best Actor and Best Actress.

The cast for the upcoming film includes Mykelti Williamson, Russell Hornsby, Saniyya Sidney and Stephen Henderson. The movie will be Denzel’s third directorial venture on the big screen. ‘Fences’ will hit the screens on December 25.
