Verve hires writers Joe Ahearne and Malachi Smyth

Verve has hired writers Joe Ahearne and Malachi Smyth, reported TheWrap. Joe Ahearne is a writer-director, who wrote the script for Danny Boyle‘s Trance featuring James McAvoy, Rosario Dawson and Vincent Cassel. Smyth has written for the film Gateway 6, which received much acclaim in the UK.

Apart from being linked with Danny Boyle, Ahearne has also directed several episodes of ‘Doctor Who’. One of which earned him a BAFTA nomination. The writer-director has also worked on the BBC drama Apparitions and Da Vinci’s Demons for David Goyer.

The film, produced by Sentinel Entertainment and Stigma Films, is going to be helmed by Tanel Toom. The movie, set in the future, focuses upon the relationship of four soldiers having stuck on an outpost of a continent awaits relief or the enemy -- whichever comes first. But as time passes by, the relationship between the soldiers reaches a breaking point, especially upon the arrival of a mysterious boat.
