X-Men: Dark Phoenix to feature Michael Fassbender as Magneto
Updated : May 17, 2017 09:55 AM ISTThe next big film in the X-Men continuity for Fox will be X-Men: Dark Phoenix, and anticipation has been really high for the project ever since it was announced. There have been rumours and speculations about who would or wouldn’t make the cut for the movie as contracts of actors Michael Fassbender (Magneto), James McAvoy (Professor X), Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique), and Nicholas Hoult (Beast) expired with the last outing — X-Men: Apocalypse. But, a recent reveal promises the return of Micheal Fassbender as the much -loved mutant, Magneto.
The actor recently spoke to MTV‘s Josh Horowitz during the Happy Sad Confused podcast and that is when Horowitz shared the tease indicating where Fassbender’s future in the X-Men universe leads. Horowitz mentioned in a tweet that the actor will return for Dark Phoenix, but not for New Mutants.
Want to know Fassbender's X-MEN future? Bet big on him appearing in DARK PHOENIX but not NEW MUTANTS. Oh, I just saw Michael Fassbender BTW

Fassbender’s Magneto first came into existence as Erik Lehnsherr in X-Men: First Class, and has since played an important role in almost all movies as the mutant leader who blurs the line between hero and villain. If this tease does hold value, Fassbender could play a pivotal part in Jean Grey’s development in the movie, much like the ill-fated X-Men: The Last Stand.
