Avantika Shetty to play a journalist in RangiTaranga

Avantika Shetty, the Mangaluru beauty is to make her debut in the Sandalwood industry with the upcoming kannada project RangiTaranga. The actress is going to portray the character named Sandhya Bharga, who is a journalist searching for a writer Anashku. The film is scheduled to relase on July 3. Recently, the actress discussed the difficulties of the role that she portrayed.

Talking of how she associates with the character, she said, “A lot, actually. I had almost taken up journalism in college, but I got into advertising instead. Donning the role of a journalist in my first film is like a dream come true”.

She also explained how difficult it was for her to be a part of the Kannada Film industry. She said, “The language was a big challenge. Apart from concentrating on the intricacies of the script, I had to devote extra time in getting my intonation right, particularly the pauses between words and the tone. Although I was born in Karnataka, my Kannada has more coastal influence than the language spoken in Bengaluru, so I had to attend a workshop ahead of shooting for the film. Anup Bhandari (writer and director of the film) and the entire unit gave me the space and guidance to get things right”.
