First superstar of Tulu cinema, K.N. Tailor passes away

Ace Tulu actor-director K.N. Tailor breathed his last at Vinaya Nursing Home this morning. The drama and cinema artiste is survived by his wife Jayanthi, three daughters and a son. He was 75.

Known as the first superstar of Tulu cinema, Tailor had acted, produced and directed around 10 Tulu movies and wrote scripts for about 20 dramas. Kaasdaye Kandane, Daareda Budedi, Pagetha Pugge, Bisathi Babu, Yaan Sanyasi Aape, Tulunada Siri, Savirodorthi Savitri, Bhagyavantedi Tailor were the famous movies delivered by him. Tailor had received various awards for his immense contribution in Tulu cinema.

The actor was admitted to hospital due to kidney and lungs problems. According to the sources, the last rites will be held tomorrow, after the arrival of his son who stays in the Gulf.
