Bijukumar Damodaran criticises channel for honouring Manju Warrier with Newsmaker award

Actress Manju Warrier has recently received the Newsmaker award by a leading channel and Bijukumar Damodaran just seems to hate this fact. Damodaran felt that the result was biased and declared that Manju Warrier does not deserve the award. He also expressed his disappointment for not including National award winner Suraj Venjarammoodu in the nominations list.

The director called the award function as "the biggest comedy of the year" and criticized the event through social media. In his long comment, Bijukumar Damodaran says, “Last year Suraj Venjaramoodu got a National award for best actor. I thought it was a National News. But now I realize it was not a news even in kerala during the last year. Especially when seeing the funny award for the News maker of the year "given" by a Television channel. He was not even in the primary list of the channel. Now hearing the result I consider that the channel really honoured him by not including his name in the list. The person of the news maker award result was the real comedy than Suraj's stage show comedy. Only one sad thing is that they degraded a respectable world famous Indian scientist and a national reputed sports personality. Really shame on these television channel.”

The notable filmmaker further commented that the least deserving Manju Warrier was chosen just for the sake of publicity.
