Major Ravi To Introduce Arunoday Singh In Mollywood
Updated : August 10, 2016 11:47 AM IST The ex-army officer and film-maker, Major Ravi, is known to carve out Mollywood entry paths for Bollywood stars. Ravi has introduced Amitabh Bachchan and Javed Jaffrey in the Malayalam industry. His next project is expected to be the debut flick for Arunoday Singh in Mollywood.
Rumours are doing the rounds that Arunoday Singh has been roped in for the role of a Pakistani officer in Major Ravi’s next. It is yet an untitled flick. “We had been in discussions with several actors before zeroing in on Arunoday. We needed someone who could act well and also look the part,” says Ravi about the 33-year-old actor.
On Arunoday’s character, Major Ravi says, “He will play Lieutenant Colonel Rana Sharif, who is inspired by a real-life soldier of the Pakistani Frontier Force of that era. It's not a negative role at all. Soldiers of both sides are fighting for their countries. In that sense, both Mohanlal's and Arunoday's characters have the same set of values and equal importance on screen.”
Mohanlal will play the lead role and Rana Daggubati plays a captain of a battle tank. The movie is expected to hit the floors by September.
