Mohanlal to play commoner in Jibu Jacob’s next

Mohanlal has been very cautious while picking roles in films. He doesn’t want to get trapped in larger than life roles. Mostly, the Malayalam actor has played son, father, superhero and a commoner. In Jibu Jacob’s upcoming, based on a short story Pranayopanishad, Mohanlal would be seen playing a character of a common man once again.

Talking of the film, Jibu said in a statement, “Only the narrative thread is based on the short story. Otherwise, everything is different. Mohanlal will play the role of a common man, whom the audience can easily relate to someone they know in their life. In fact, the project is in its nascent stage, and we are yet to confirm the other cast and crew”.

Further the director thinks that Mohanlal fits into the role perfectly. He also said, “Lalettan was quite impressed with the storyline and he gave an immediate nod to be part of the film. We can't think of casting anybody other than Mohanlal for the role”. Further the director said that he loves to picturize real life stories, saying, “Though I love to watch all kinds of movies, I would prefer to frame movies with realistic story lines. In fact, it would reflect the life of people around us and the incidents the audience should be able to relate to”.
