Mohanlal's Pulimurugan First To Reach 100 Crore In Mollywood

There is no question over what kind of fan following, veteran actor Mohanlal enjoys in his den, Mollywood. The Drishyam actor’s recent release, Pulimurugan has booked its place in history books with record earnings. The Vyshakh directorial flick has made it to 100 crore club with its global collection, which surprised many.  

Interestingly, this is also the first Malayalam flick to have crossed 100 crore mark, that too within 34 days of its release. Mohanlal has broken his own record by superseding Drishyam numbers, which previously held the title of highest grossing Mollywood film. Moreover, his recent Telugu release starring Junior NTR in lead became the most successful Tollywood movie of the year with 135 crore earning.

In the flick, Mohanlal plays a village hunter who brings down the tigers who are aggressive and dangerous for locals. The filmmakers brought in Hollywood action choreographer veteran Peter Hein for the project and it is said that the Mohanlal performed all the stunts in the movie himself.
