Najeem Koya To Helm August Cinemas’ Kali

Writer-actor Najeem Koya will soon venture into the field of direction. Known for Two Countries (2015), Apoorvaragam (2010) and Friday (2012), the scriptwriter has been brought on board to wield the megaphone for an upcoming film, titled Kali. The movie will be produced by August Cinemas, which was formed in 2011 and is one of the most prominent production banners of Malayalam cinema.

The flick will feature Joju George, Baburaj, Shammi Thilakan, Prasanth, Aiswarya Suresh, Tini Tom, Vidya Vijay, Sona Nair, among others. The shoot of the film is said to be underway. Along with the renowned stars, the upcoming movie will also feature a number of newcomers.

Najeem is handling the film’s story, screenplay as well as dialogues. The director’s friend Arouz Irfan is also playing a part in penning down the screenplay and dialogues. On a related note, Kali is the first project undertaken by August Cinemas after Prithviraj parted ways from the production banner.
