Varalaxmi and Unni Mukundan Will Play Police Officers In Ajai Vasudevan’s Next

The shooting of director Ajai Vasudevan’s yet-to-be-titled movie has already started. The movie boasts an ensemble cast of Mammootty, Unni Mukundan, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Poonam Bajwa and Mahima Nambiar. The movie which is a campus thriller will show Mammootty playing a college lecturer.

Speaking about the characters of the film’s cast, scriptwriter Udayakrishna tells, “Varalaxmi plays an IPS officer named Bhavani Durga, who is one of the female leads. Poonam Bajwa is a college lecturer in the film.” Unni Mukundan will also be seen in an important role, that of a police officer.

About the plot of the movie, the scriptwriter who rose to fame with Pulimurugan tells, “The college has an extremely hostile environment with group wars a routine affair. The students are often booked by the cops for crimes. So, the core of the film is the hostility between the police and the youth."

Mammootty will essay a character named Edward Livingstone with a criminal background. He is very strict with the students. Further how his character changes the situation forms the crux of the story. The makers are currently shooting at Fatima Mata National College in Kollam.
