Baahubali: The Beginning did wonders for Bollywood in ways nobody could have ever imagined. At a time when biggies starring the industry stalwarts were struggling to earn moolah, the film came and thumped into the 100 crore club with flying colors. And that’s the Hindi version we are talking about. Now while we are awaiting the next part of the series, there’s may be a bigger surprise kept for us in later 2017.
The Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar starrer 2.0 that is scheduled to hit the screens on Diwali is potentially a box office storm that we may not have seen before. Yes, it has got so many factors attached to its name that it can easily become a lot bigger than Baahubali.

Rajinikanth
We all saw what happened when Thalaiva’s last release Kabali hit the screens earlier this year. It was BERSERK! Bollywood and Hindi cinema followers are quite fond of the superstar and seeing him in a Hindi film is going to be more than a welcome step. The film being made is a bilingual in Tamil and Hindi, just FYI!
Akshay Kumar
Yes, Akshay Kumar would perhaps be a bigger reason for Bollywood viewers to watch the film! Turning a sci-fi villain for the first time in a movie that’s colossally high on scale is a treat his fans would wait for. Count an extra 75 crores only on the name on Akshay Kumar.
Shankar
Maybe if Bollywood watchers aren’t aware who this genius is that we are talking about, this man could easily be rated as India’s most visionary filmmaker. Only he could have thought of crafting a film like Enthiran aka Robot and now that he’s given two years of his life to making 2.0 having made I, there’s enough why you can look forward to this.
The Project
If hearsays are anywhere to go by, this project is possibly the most expensive one made in the history of Indian cinema and who better than Shankar to take helm of it. While Robot pushed limits of technology to an all-time high in 2010, this one could really be a trend setter again. With the fusion of Kollywood and Bollywood to produce something special, 2.0 will easily compete with a Hollywood biggies in a lot of ways.
