However a few hours ago when he announced the updated release date of his film Secret Superstar, he gave us several different angles to wonder about. With this delay in release of the film, Aamir Khan has announced a box office clash with none other than the National Award winner Akshay Kumar.

The Rajinikanth-Akshay Kumar starrer 2.0 that has been in the making for a long time is also slated to release on Diwali and that is confirmed. So with Aamir Khan shifting the release date of his film further by a few months, we once again have a clash guaranteed. While Secret Superstar isn’t really that exclusive Aamir Khan starrer that has huge buzz building around itself, it still could be a potent threat to a biggie on any given day.

The idea of this superstardom filled clash took us straight back to Christmas of 2007. It was Akshay Kumar led commercial biggie Welcome taking on Aamir Khan’s low profile story about a dyslexic child Taare Zameen Par. It is a strikingly similar scenario with a film like Secret Superstar (about a young girl’s dream finding a support) clashing with a high voltage Akshay Kumar starrer.

10 years have passed. Aamir Khan is Bollywood’s biggest box office ruler while Akshay Kumar is now a National Award winner. Talking about similarities, the Welcome actor was banking on a fabulous run ten years ago with back to back hits and is looking at a similar kind of pattern even today.

Whether this will be a high voltage clash will depend on further developments. However, this one’s going to be special. Aamir Khan is known to invest every bit of his dedication in his productions. With him playing an important role in the movie, his fans wouldn’t take Secret Superstar as a passable affair.
