Akshay Kumar's Housefull 3 Set To Break Records at the Box Office!

Akshay Kumar’s Housefull 3 is off to a great start at the box-office, crossing the ₹50 crore mark in its first weekend.

The film opened strongly on Friday and the numbers kept getting better with each day. The film grossed ₹15.21 crore on Friday and the numbers rose on Saturday with box-office collection of ₹16.30 crore.

The film, featuring the ensemble cast of Akshay Kumar, Jacqueline Fernandez, Riteish Deshmukh, Lisa Haydon, Nargis Fakhri and Abhishek Bachchan, got the advantage of being the sole big film to be released this Friday. Also, not only the film not only did well domestically but internationally as well.

According to reports, Sunday numbers are in the region of ₹20 crore. If that's the case, the total for the first weekend would be near ₹52 crore. Akshay Kumar's Airlift, which is the highest grossing movie of 2016 so far, collected only ₹45 crore in its first 3 days. If the numbers keep steady throughout the week, Housefull 3 would certainly displace Airlift from the top-spot.  

Housefull 3's potential ₹52 crore is also better than its predecessors. Housefull earned ₹41 crore, while Housefull raked in ₹42 crore in the first three days.

Housefull 3's business is also better than Hollywood sensation The Jungle Book. The Jungle Book, which is about to become the first Hollywood film to enter ₹200 crore club in India, earned ₹10.09 crore and ₹ 13.51 crore on Friday and Saturday respectively. This is well short of Housefull 3's gross of ₹15.21 crore and ₹16.30 crore on the first two days.
