11 Top Bollywood Directors & The Films They Are Making Next

Though it may appear that making movies is an easy job, but it's not. Making films -- even the bad ones -- require the cohesion of several creative and technical disciplines which require a lot of management and ability. They require accumulation of talent and using it for a common goal of telling a story. Though there are a number of highly skilled technicians to carry out the complicated tasks involved in movie-making, but even then good movies remains a rare occurrence.

Why? you may ask. It's because no amount of talent and technical prowess can be enough if there is no vision to bring it all together. And that's where directors come in. Directors are the ones who act both as a leader and an inspiration. It is their vision that everyone working on a movie-set abides by and they are the ones who set the tone for the story. Though, to seem, it might seem that directors have it easy these days, with all these excellent technicians working with them. But telling a story in a feature film is one helluva a nuanced job that requires the directors to both have the vision and technical talent.

1. Dibakar Banerjee

One of the best directors working in the industry, Dibakar Banerjee has two confirmed projects lined up. One is an untitled dark thriller with Arjun Kapoor attached to it. The other is the sequel of Detective Byomkesh Bakshi.

2. Shoojit Sircar

Director of Piku and Vicky Donor, Shoojit Sircar is returning to the director's chair with a film in which Varun Dhawan will be in the lead.

3. Zoya Akhtar

Following up Dil Dhadkne Do, Zoya Akhtar will next make Gully Boy. The film, which will star Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles, will detail the life of street rappers in Mumbai.

4. Rajkumar Hirani

Rajkumar Hirani has got his hands full with one of the most talked-about biopic film in our country, Dutt. Following which, he will turn his attention to Munnabhai's third installment.

5. Nitesh Tiwari

Following the mega-success of Dangal, Nitesh Tiwari has been confirmed to make his next film with the producer Sajid Nadiadwala.

6. Kabir Khan

The director is currently wrapping up the heavily anticipated Tubelight, starring Salman Khan. It is reported that he will be working with Hrithik Roshan next.

7. R. Balki

Director of Cheeni Kam and Ki & Ka, R. Balki will be directing the Akshay Kumar-Sonam Kapoor starrer Padman.

8. Neeraj Pandey

After the success of M.S.Dhoni: The Untold Story, Neeraj Pandey will once again reunite with Akshay Kumar. This time it will be for Crack.

9. Imtiaz Ali

After Tamasha, Imtiaz Ali is currently shooting a romantic film with Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma. The film is tentatively titled The Ring.

10. Anurag Kashyap

After getting a lot of critical acclaim for Raman Raghav 2.0, Anurag Kashyap has been linked to several projects. The auteur has been attached to a romantic film, a boxing film titled Mukebaaz and an anthology film called Madly.

11. Rohit Shetty

The most commercially succesful filmmaker working in our country today, Rohit Shetty will be returning to Golmaal series with the fourth installment titled Golmaal Again.
