You better know him as Indravardhan Sarabhai from Sarabhai Versus Sarabhai, but Satish Shah has had his days of glory much before he became a part of this cult TV show! 

The rather unsual, pleasantly plum looking actor with signature moustache has always been that light hearted character in many famous films who always added colour and happiness to the frame.

Professor Rasai in Main Hoon Na

You can apparently still feel this fountain coming over to you as you recall this role in Main Hoon Na. It became a cult character in those days and people love Satish Shah's role in the movie. He spat on everyone's face like a fountain as he spoke in the movie.

Doctor in Hum Aapke Hain Koun

"Tasveer ho gaya hoon tasveer dekhkar, rooh khil uthi hai yaar ki taqdeer dekh kar!" 

We all remember this dialogue of Satish Shah from the movie Hum Aapke Hain Koun, right at the beginning when he comes to know that Alok Nath has fixed Mohnish Bahl's wedding. He comes home and gets upet with him for not telling him about this, but then he spots the photo frame which has the picture of the would be bride. Satish didn't let the large ensemble cast steal his thunder.

Pritam in Hum Saath Saath Hain

A chronic diabetic patient who can do anything to get his hands on laddoos, was Satish Shah in Rajshri's famous film where he played the father of  Sonali Bendre who was a doctor (in love with Salman Khan). He had a perfect comic timing with the negative character played by Sadashiv Amrapurkar (Karishma Kapoor's father in the movie) and he fondly called him, 'Humre Sanwre Balam!' In yet another huge star cast, Satish Shah made his mark.

Ajit Singh in DDLJ 

He played the father of Kuljeet (Parmeet Sethi) who was supposed to marry Simran (Kajol). He gets fooled into the fact that Raj (SRK) wants to set up a million dollar factory in India after saving his son's life. Satish Shah put in the right amount of humour in every frame he shared with the rather stern Babu ji aka Amrish Puri.
