Game of Thrones, a show that has this addictive effect on us by gluing us to our personal thrones is moving towards its finale with the 7th and the second last season coming up this July. As the series proceeds for the final showdown it has slaughtered a lot of lead characters thanks to the infamous George R.R. Martin. But no matter how much you hate him for being cruel, you got to admit that he has provided us with some key characters on whom lies the burden of the plot. It would be shameful if George R.R. Martin kills of these key characters. Here's a list of the 6 most important characters of the Game of Thrones franchise that must never die.

Arya Stark

The girl with no name has taken over our hearts by cloaking her insecurity with boldness, courage and wits. The character has grown on Maisie Williams over the past 6 seasons. She has evolved as an integral part of the show. As a personal fan of Arya Stark I hope to see her aid Jon in fighting for his right over the Iron Throne. After all, George R.R. Martin won’t let all the character development go in vain. Arya Stark is the only assassin that can be trusted by the northerners and can be used by them to infiltrate into the army of Lannisters and finally take avenge her fathers death. Jon needs Arya for all his stealth operation to infiltrate into army camps and assassinate their generals. Arya is needed now more than ever and it is essential that she survives till the end.

Jon Snow

The honourable bastard has finally taken up his mantle as the king of the north and now is ready to cease control over the Iron Throne and the Westros. The shy and mellow boy is all grown up with his excellent swordsmanship. The King in the north is now ready to attack the Lannisters and take over the iron throne. He is the last hope to ensure that northerners survive and establish their dominance over the seven kingdom.The last episode of season 6 has left the audience stunned because now the Bastard of Starks is a Targaryen. It only seems fair that he joins forces with Daenerys to claim his control on the Iron Throne. Since Jon is the only one with both the blood of Targareyan and Starks it is important for him to survive the war and take over the throne. 

Tyrion Lannister

The witty imp has always wooed the audience with his impeccable wits and comebacks. Though there hasn’t been much of a character development since season 5 still his fan base manages to keep increasing exponentially. He is the only guy in the entire series who can use his wits to crumble down empires. We don’t know which of the protagonists would rule over the seven kingdoms but we do know for sure that Tyrion Lannister is the only character who can provide the counsel to the king. It is essential for him to live because he is the only one to know kings landing and its defences. Tyrion is the only one who can read the hard skinned Cersei in and out and can aid the Targaryens and the Starks to cease control of the iron throne and seven kingdoms. Tyrion is like an ace in the hole who will be a deciding factor as to who will sit on the iron throne. 

Cersei Lanister

The wicked queen has now taken over Westros and rules over the seven kingdoms. After killing of dozen of lead characters this shrewd woman has made it to the top. This stone hearted woman can go to any limits to acquire her control over whatever lays out there. With Jamie on her side but not for long she pledges to take down all the rogue armies who dare to claim over her throne. Lena Headey has done a tremendous job in portraying Cersei as this cunning woman. A trait of a true actor is to make everyone believe that youre shrewd and Lena has pulled that off beautifully. Cersei has to live for if she dies the show ends. She is the only obstacle between the throne and the rest of the houses. It is a speculation that the Starks and Tagaryens will join forces and only Cersei is the one who can stop them form taking the iron throne. Without Cersei there is no game of thrones and we would have a clear winner and therefore it is necessary for her to survive. 

Daenerys Targaryen

The queen of the Andal’s and of the seven kingdoms has returned to claim whats rightfully hers. Though she has tried to adopt a fierce attitude. She stills remain a pompous kid with no strategies but only good luck by her side. She is only safe under the counsel of the witty imp and doesn’t stand a chance against Cersei without him. No matter how stubborn and irrational she is she still plays a vital role in the plot and we look forward to see her fight the ultimate battle between the roar of the lions and the fire of the dragons. Daenerys is the only one with the knowledge and experience of all the seven kingdoms and is well versed with the plight of common man. She could make a fine queen. Though she seems dumb she is one of the top 3 contenders to claim the Iron Throne. With dragons and the khalasar on her side it seems she will be going for the showdown battle and might win it as well. 

Bran Stark

The only guy in the entire series trying to fight the real threat while the rest of the characters are busy fighting their petite wars. White walkers are coming and only the three eyed raven AKA Bran Stark can stop them. Over his journey he has mastered the art of warping and can control not only dire wolves but men as well. The disabled child now flies through the misty skies as he plans to put an end to all the blood shed the white walkers have been doing. He is the only guy capable of stopping the white walkers and bringing peace in the seven kingdoms. WINTER HAS COME and Bran is the only hope to stop the army of the dead from bringing the chills of winter into the seven kingdoms and ending life as they know it. It would be blasphemy if George R.R. Martin kills him off.
