7 Deaths In Harry Potter Series That Left Us All Heartbroken

We bet that all you potterheads shed tears every time your favourite character dies in the movie! From Dumbledore to Dobby, we've all wept, felt that heartache and have combatted depression after that. Here are seven characters that shouldn't have died! No! 

Sirius Black

Sirius Black was not only Harry Potter's godfather but the only person whom Harry could call his family. Anyone with even a slightest hint of the series can imagine how gloomy it was to watch his death at the hands of Bellatrix Lestrange, his own cousin. It was gloomy enough to see Sirius, such a wonderful person fell through the archway into the afterlife and take part of our hearts as well as our eyes swelled with tears of sorrow.

Albus Dumbledore

Albus Dumbledore. This iconic character needs no introduction, his death seemed certain from the start of the series but it was almost heartbreaking to see that the death spell that took away Dumbledore was casted by none other than his trusted friend Severus Snape. Dumbledore pleads Snape to use the killing curse and put an end to his life. The sad part about his death was that Snape had to kill the only guy who understood his love for Lily just so Harry could fulfil his purpose and end the dark lord forever.

Dobby

Dobby, the free elf was once a house elf for the malfoy family until Harry Potter set him free and since then libby has been indent to Harry Potter and has saved his life at numerous situations. The lovable creature met his end by defying his former masters and rescuing Ron, Harry and Hermione from Lord Voldemort and the Death Eaters. Dobby's death scene was one of the most tragic scenes in the entire series, and these 6 words “Here Lies Dobby, A Free Elf." are the most mournful words in the entire series that have riled up almost everyone.

Fred Weasley

The Weasley Twins were one of the biggest source of humour in the entire series. We laughed with them as they playfully tormented their brother Ron. We cheered for them when they showed the awful Professor Umbridge who was boss. And we shed so many tears when they were separated, as Fred met his untimely death in the Battle of Hogwarts. Fred Weasley's casualty in the great battle is one that still hurts.

Remus Lupin

Remus Lupin, a father figure to Harry, was an outcast in the Wizarding community because of his not-so-secret identity as a werewolf. Though an outcast, he fought bravely throughout his life to protect the wizarding world and Harry Potter.He had such a difficult life and just when he’d found love and acceptance and become a father, he died alongside his beloved wife making the ultimate sacrifice and leaving their poor son an orphan.

Severus Snape

We all knew how Severus Snape was a complicated and tragic character. While he resented Harry due to his uncanny resemblance to James Potter, who tormented Snape as a child, he nevertheless protected Harry throughout his life due to his undying love for Harry's mother, Lily. Snape died in a double-cross from Voldemort, but what makes his death so important and so sad is that in his final moments we get to see all the love that poor Severus still held in his heart for Lily Potter.

Hedwig

Harry Potter's introduction to the wizarding world came via his pet owl, Hedwig, who had been by Harry's side since Day One of his life as a wizard. When Harry felt alone, abandoned by his friends, Hedwig was still there. Hedwig was more than just a pet, he was one of his dearest friends. So this death was particularly sad and unexpected.
