Singer Sonu Nigam is all over the headlines now. The singer had recently tweeted about how loudspeakers should be banned in religious institutions but was instead trolled.

It all started when he tweeted :

His point was that loudspeakers should not be used in religious institutions but the Muslim community was offended with the tweet as it singled them out! But the fiasco did not end there. When a maulvi issued a fatwa again him and said that anybody who shaves Sonu’s head would be given 10lakh rupees, he went ahead and shaved his head himself!

1. When he accused a senior journalist of sexual harassment

In 2007, Sonu Nigam had claimed that senior entertainment journalist Subhas K. Jha had been sexually harassing him. He said that Jha would send him inappropriate messages and when he had not responded to any of them, he tried to tarnish his image in the public. He wrote an open letter and expressed everything. Jha claimed that all the allegations are untrue!

2. His tweets in support of Radhe Maa

Radhe Maa was accused of some serious offences including dowry allegations some year back! Many people also said that she does not deserve to be called a spiritual guru because of her lifestyle and her dressing habits! Sonu tweeted saying that it is shameful that society still judges women with their clothes. But he used a reference of Hindu goddess Kali that enraged many!

3. When he had a head-on fight with a music label

Sonu Nigam had, in 2015, tweeted about how Zee News has dubbed a speech by Dr. Kumar Vishwas in an attempt to smear AAP’s image. The next day Komal Nahata tweeted about Zee Music blacklisting Sonu Nigam and that he will be replaced in their upcoming films. More tweets followed and a spat took place before they finally patched up two years later.

4. When he sang mid-sir using the flight’s announcement system

Sonu Nigam gave a live performance in a private flight using the flight’s announcement system. While fans drooled over it, the flight management was not too happy. They severely criticized Sonu Nigam and also sacked the attendants present there.

5. His twitter war with Karan Johar

Sonu Nigam and Karan Johar shared a great bond. But with the release of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, where in a few scenes Johar has poked some harmless fun at Mohammad Rafi, the singer was enraged. War of words continued and they had a tiff!
