Here's Why These 10 Actors Became The Most Searched Bollywood Celebrities Of 2016

2016 was a big year in Bollywood. With the industry breaking into two, for or against the MNS ban on Pakistani actors in Bollywood to so many new debuts, biopics and kisses this year, this trip around the sun was quite an interesting one for the filmy folks.  So many actors trended for various reasons and Google has finally come out with a list of those who were the most searched this year. The names on the list are quite surprising and we are certain that you will miss seeing some of the biggest names on the list. But Google said it folks and we have to believe it.

So here’s the list of the top 10 most searched actors of Bollywood in 2016.

10. Vicky Kaushal – The Raman Raghav 2.0 actor trended like crazy when the film released. Playing a drug addict cop, his performance was applauded massively in the film and eventually ranked high in the Google searches. The actor hit the headlines once again when news floated that he has been approached for Padmavati to play Deepika Padukone’s husband and she refused to star opposite him thinking that he is too small an actor to work opposite.

9. Ranveer Singh – The actor has maintained the trends all yearlong for one and only one reason and that is Aditya Chopra’s Befikre. The stories that started with 23 kisses in the film that drew many eyes since the beginning of the year when the promotions began to Ranveer’s butt naked performance, Befikre has kept him afloat this year.

8. Anupam Kher – This Bollywood actor hit the headlines for reason more political. The actor gave a enthralling speech at the Kolkata Club during the Telegraph National Debate on the cries of intolerance rising around the country. He said that these people who are speaking of intolerance are those who cannot digest a chaiwala becoming the PM. The speech went viral and then he appeared on Aap Ki Adalat on India TV and the show uncovered some unknown hardships of his life.

7. Sooraj Pancholi – Bollywood’s new Hero drove the nation crazy as he featured in a music video GF BF alongside Jacqueline Fernandez. The video went viral and Sooraj trended days together for being a part of it early in this year.

6. Arshad Warsi –The actor trended for more than one reason this year and the first reason was his wife, Maria Goretti. The actor spoke some very affectionate words for her and that made the internet go aww! The other reason was his absence from the upcoming installment of Munna Bhai and all the hue and cry that became of it. His film Jolly LLB is getting a sequel with Akshay Kumar in the lead and his replacement took him the headline one more time.

Salman Khan – The Sultan actor is not new to being the most searched but this year the reasons were his film Sultan, his rape comment on being asked how it was to play a wrestler in the film, his stint as the Bigg Boss host yet again and his upcoming film Tubelight with Chinese actress Zhu Zhu in the lead opposite him.

4. Pulkit Samrat – The actor got famous for his divorce with Salman Khan’s rakhi sister Shweta Rohira and his alleged relationship with actress Yami Gautam, who was blamed for the divorce. Yami and Pulkit worked together in Junooniyat and Sanam Re this year and his ex wife spoke at length at how Yami was the reason for her divorce. The actor even lost his cool at the media for persistently following him.

3. Harshvardhan Kapoor – Son of Anil Kapoor, and brother of actress Sonam Kapoor, Harshvardhan made a power pact debut this year with Mirzya. The film was much talked about and directed by Rakesh Omprakash Mehra. The actor strived really hard for the role and even moved away from home in preparation. The film however tanked at the box office, but Harshvardhan got really appreciated and famous.

2. Kabir Bedi – The 70 year old hit the trends early this year for his 3^rd marriage to his close friend Parveen Dusanj who is 29 years younger than the actor. He certainly broke all age stereos and said that he is delighted to be married for the last time in his life. The couple tied the knot on January 15 which was on the eve of Kabir Bedi’s 70^th birthday. He certainly surprised many in the industry with this move.

1. Sushant Singh Rajput – The TV actor who made it large in Bollywood all by himself made the fans go crazy with his portrayal of M.S. Dhoni in the biopic of the ace cricket captain of the Indian team. The film M.S. Dhoni - The Untold Story,  was much awaited and later much appreciated. More than his chemistry with Disha Patani in the movie his chemistry with M.S.Dhoni himself during promotions got him really famous and drew so many people to the theatres.

So this was 2016’s list of most trending Bollywood actors, but we certainly missed some big names like Shah Rukh Khan, Fawad Khan and others who were big news makers this year.
