Here's What 'Mohabbatein' Actor Jugal Hansraj Is Upto These Days

The film starred Naseeruddin Shah and Shabana Azmi and was about a 9 year old boy who was abandoned by his stepmother. Unfortunately his adulthood as an actor did not fare all that well, but we all remember him well for his boy next door image in Mohabbatein. Today the actor turns 43 and here’s all the trivia you need to know about him!

After he caught our eyes in his first film Masoom, he bagged several other films and ads. He was seen in popular ads like Saffola, Vicks Vaporub, and Nutramul.

His first film as an adult was Aa Gale Lag Ja, in 1994 opposite Urmila Matondkar, who incidently played his sister in Masoom! The film unfortunately crashed at the box office.

After a few forgettable performances he finally bagged a position in Mohabbatein that came out in 2000, with a star cast including Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan! The film regrettably did not do a little more than fix his image in our eyes.

There after he was seen in exceptionally short roles in film like Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gam, Salaam Namaste, and Aaja Nachle! These roles were so short that we almost missed his presence.
Jugal took to direction and script writing with his animation project Roadside Romeo, he won a National Award for the movie as the Best Director (Animation Film)!
His biggest contribution to cinema was when he gave Karan Johar the tune and the first eight lines in the lyrics of the love anthem Kuch Kuch Hota Hai! Surprised right?
Jugal might have quit his acting career, but have bagged a positin at the creative team at Dharma Productions and although he isn’t directing films for them, he assists the selection and development of scripts.
