Collection in India – 183.94 crores

Disney’s remake of The Jungle Book broke box office records in India by hitting the Indian audiences with the right kind of nostalgia. Not only did the kids love it, but also did the Indian adults who have grown up with Rudyard Kipling’s story! The film was released May 2016, and enjoyed a 50 days run at the theatres.

Fast and Furious 7

Collection in India – 149 crores

Apart from being a high end action franchise from Hollywood, film starred Bollywood actor Ali Fazal in a minor role. Apart from this, the film was Hollywood actor Paul Walker’s last project, who passed away in a car accident in 2013. The film opened in nearly 2200 screens in India and had a long run.

The 2009 Oscar winning sci-fi drama found a huge fan base in India and had an impressive run at the Indian box office. Owing to its outlandish and striking visual effects the film did well internationally and was the first ever Hollywood flick to have crossed the 100 crores benchmark in India.

The Jurassic Park franchise has been hit in India and across the world for over two decades and this 2015 addition to it was no exception. The dinosaur thriller was a terrifying box office hit in India and it came as no surprise.

Collection in India – 101 crores

Marvel’s Avengers was already a hit in India and it came as no surprise when the fans rushed to the theatres on the release of its sequel in 2015. The super hero flick earned more than its original at the Indian box office and had an impressive run in the theatres.

Fast and Furious 8, The Fate of The Furious, is catching up in its collections post a week long run and has already managed to earn 65.25 crores. The film is expected to run and longer and it is worth seeing if it would out do its predecessor in collections.
