JK Rowling Answers The Questions Related To Snape's Character
Updated : April 06, 2016 11:02 AM ISTThis year has been a year full of excitement and debate for all the Potterheads around the globe. Whether it was the announcement of the illustrated edition of Harry Potter, pronunciation of Lord Voldemort's name or the speculations around stage sequel of Harry Potter.
The latest edition to the debate before the year ends is that of Snape's character, the mystery that shrouds his character and Harry's naming his son after him. Snape's character remains someone who can neither be classified as a devil nor a saint.
In a question and answer session on twitter, Rowling was asked this question and she replied:
Snape died for Harry out of love for Lily. Harry paid him tribute in forgiveness and gratitude. https://t.co/MPXBgUApa3

And she also cleared it that whatever Snape did for Harry was his love for Lily. A question read, "What forgiveness, I mean Snape held no malice against Harry?"
That's not true, I'm afraid. Snape projected his hatred and jealousy of James onto Harry. https://t.co/5jzNHlfSe0

The confusion around the Defence Against the Dark Arts professor's character has been going on for years and JK Rowling herself agrees to it.
I've got to say this: you lot have been arguing about Snape for years. My timeline just exploded with love & fury yet again. Never change x

Snape is all grey. You can't make him a saint: he was vindictive & bullying. You can't make him a devil: he died to save the wizarding world
