While he kept doing comedy shows on and off, he worked towards making himself a brand. When his show Comedy Nights with Kapil saw skyrocketing TRPs, the channel took away all the accolades. What happened after the unfathomable success of the show also includes tiff between the channel and Kapil, along with critics of his comedy sitting like vultures to see his career graph go up and down. Not to mention his mid-air tiff with The Kapil Sharma Show co-star Sunil Grover that brought, not only his show down, but his career to the brink as well.

Kapil Sharma is a classic example of modern day survival and ambitious people. While he got criticised for turning Comedy Nights With Kapil into a film promotion tool, he made sure all that while his co-characters and the entire feel of the show is all about him. He did tours across the globe with his team to promote his show to see soaring popularity. He cracked the right nerve in the heartland of the nation. From middle class to upper class Indians, Kapil Sharma became a household name. While a lot of characters from his show are equally popular, the truth is people remember them for being a part of Kapil Sharma’s team. He became a brand.
2. The Kapil Sharma Show
On a jam packed evening at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi, Kapil made a thumping come back after the channel he was working with ousted him due to a tiff. His team stood by him, and they co-created new characters. Kapil played his trump card to catch hold of SONY as a platform to come up with a new show, and he roped in SRK for his first episode. And this time, the name of the show was in his own name. The turn out and TRPs weren’t sky rocketing but people were super happy that their favourite comedian was back. He became an overnight hero for mango people who do not understand the TV business and clauses. Film marketing people made sure his new show was on their check list when films released. When Kapil Sharma was establishing himself on TV, he participated in PM Modi’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan and checked his bucket list of being among the VIPs of India, side by side ticking his CSR.

4. Adopting Zanjeer (The dog you saw on CNWK)
It was one of the first of its kind of a move which was indeed heart warming. Kapil adopted Zanjeer, the labrador, who retired from Mumbai Police and was homeless. While it was a great moral decision on his part, it carved a very humane image of the man among the masses.
5. He didn’t give up
Sounds cliche, but it’s true. He had lost his father, his brother worked as a constable in Punjab and he was a winner of a reality show after which most of the people vanish in thin air. He made his way up in his 30s and is living his dream today. He’s also done a film which wasn’t very successful, but he’s friends with every biggie in the film industry. His net worth is beyond your comprehension and despite his recent pitfalls and alcoholism he has come back to try and win hearts once again with Family Time With Kapil He may have changed the channel he works for now, and he’s had his share of massive criticism from fans, but guess what, he’s not giving up.
